NIT Hamirpur student goes missing in Beas river

Hamirpur: A second-year BArch student from National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, reportedly drowned in Beas river near Bhalet villager, about five kilometers from the town, on Saturday. The victim, Apurv Chaudhary, a resident of Dibrugarh in Assam, had gone for a picnic with four other friends and had entered the waters with another friend. They were caught in the strong current of the river and Apurv was sucked in by a whirlpool. Though a massive search operation was launched, his body could not be located till the filing of this report.
