Mercury plunges in Himachal

Shimla: Weather remained dry throughout Himachal Pradesh during last 24 hours even as Mercury plunged down slightly, bringing in some chill.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district plunged by one degree and recorded coldest in the state at minus 8.9 degree Celsius, followed by Kalpa in Kinnaur district at 0.1 degrees, two degree below normal. Bhuntar in Kullu and Sundernagar in Mandi district fell by one degree each and recorded 4.4 degrees and 0.6.8 degrees respectively. The capital town was still three degrees above normal with minimum of 7.5 degrees, while Dharamshala was four degree below normal 6.5 degrees. Minimum at Mandi was 8.5 degrees, Nahan 13.3 degrees, Palampur eight degrees and Solan 5.5 degrees respectively.

Met office forecast rain or snow at few places in high reaches, rain or thundershower at isolated places in middle hills and mainly dry weather in plain or low hills of the state in the coming 24 hours.
