Five arrest in conection with Chamba firing

Chamba: Chamba police have arrested five people in connection with firing over a peaceful gathering of villagers at a small hydro power project site on Hul stream in Chamba district, in which five people were injured.

District police chief Madusudhan Sharma said that the five persons, who were arrested on Monday include Neeraj, Ghanshyam, Narinder Handa, Anil Singh and Anil Gupta. They were produced before a local court after their arrest and were sent in five-day police remand. Out of the five injured, one was referred to RP Tanda medical college for treatment.
The firing left Ratan Chand, a Zila Parishad member, Man Singh, an up-pradhan of Jadera Panchayat, and three residents Hemraj, Laxman and Manoj injured at Jadera village of Chamba district.
