Temples in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh are dedicated to village deities. Literally, every village has its own deity and every kinship has its own deity too. Mata Ashapuri temple near Palampur is one such place having a long history but now suffering neglect. The ancient temple, situated at a secerene and beautiful place, is built in the beautiful hill architecture style, but has lately been finding itself neglected and forgotten as it is difficult to climb up to the place and also lack of support infrastructure.

To make the temple premised more accommodating, the temple pandal/baranda should be extended to accomodate maximum pilgrims/devotees in temple premises. The government should also set up a dharmsala/sarai for pilgrims as most of them travel from far off places. There should be proper water supply and lighting at the place. Stairs leading to the temple also require repair and modification to avoid accidents. The place can be of great tourist attraction if a  ropeway is built at the place.
While local people have been taking care of the premises, it would help if the government takes over the temple so that funds are available for maintaining it.

During these struggling times, people have been visiting temples in large numbers to get rid of their sufferings. Therefore, it is important that keeping in mind the faith of people, the government takes care of all such temples spread across the state.
