Shimla: Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) launched its first call centre cum data centre at the Mall in Shimla on Wednesday. HPSEB customers in the state capital will now be able to register complaints and obtain any other information relating to the functioning of the Board through the toll-free number 1800 18080 60.
Addressing the inaugural function, Chief Minister congratulated HPSEB for launching the IT enabled services to its customers, which would save their time and money.  HPSEB is spending Rs. 5.01 crore for full automation of 10 sub-divisions, which will benefit over 70,000 consumers in the Shimla operation circle. The project is likely to be extended to over 11 lakh consumers of 122 sub-divisions of HPSEB by the beginning of coming financial year. Alternately, Sugam Centres of the state government are also being established under integrated community service centres or at community service centres up to panchayat level.
