Shimla: For those who are still cursing themselves to be part of the monotony of the Shimla Summer Festival, almost washed away as usual, here’s a chance to sizzle in the Monsoon rains, quite literally if you happen to enjoy the sound and fury of metal and stretched strings. For the first time, Shimla will host a two-day rock show of some standing on June 21 and 22 at the Ritz Cineplex
A part of the Kingfisher Pubrockfest 2008 fests being held across India, Shimla will get a chance to witness India’s rock sensations like the Channel {V} Launchpad fame Cyanide and the Half Step Down.
While Half Step Down will rock the city on the first day, the following day will be full on rock-n-roll with Cyanide playing their crunching guitar tunes. Cyanide recently took part in the Channel {V} Launchpad, and reached the finals with bands like Bhayanak Maut, The Superfuzz and Frequency.
Kingfisher Pubrockfest 2008, an initiative of Rock Street Journal, is proving the biggest nation-wide music festival celebrating the culture of live bands. The event is scheduled for three months, May to July, with 60 gigs in 20 cities across India featuring over 100 performances.
