Snow and rain in many parts of Himachal

The inclement weather continued in the state as snow or rain lashed many part during last 24 hrs and high reaches of state reported light to moderate snowfall keeping the mercury few degree below freezing point.

Shimla, Dauladhar range in Kangra district and high reaches of Manali experienced light to moderate snowfall during last 48 hrs while rainfall was registered in lower parts of the state due to the the pervailing of western disturbance in the state.

Kalpa in Kinnnuar recorded 4.4 cm snowfall, Keylong, headquater of Lahaul Spiti district one centimeter.

In Kangra district Guler had 31 mm, Dharamshala 27.8 mm, Nagrota Suriyan 21 mm, Gagle 17 mm, Palampur 12.2 mm, Ghamroor in Bilaspur, Nadaun in Hamirpur & Mehre in Kangra 11 mm each, Dehra Gopipur in Kangra & Saloni in Chamba 9 mm each.

Tourist resort Shimla got 2 mm, Manali 8 mm and Kasuli 2 mm rain respectively while Bangana in Una, Udaipur in Lahaul Spiti, Chamba, Hamirpur, Nurpur in Kangra, Kotkhai and Jubbar Hatti and Karsog in Mandi also received rainfall in the state.

The night temperature slightly rose in the high reaches but it went down in middle and foothills, as Keylong was cold at minus 5.7 degree Celcius, Kalpa minus 1.6 degrees, This capital town and Manali was low at one degrees each, Dharamshala 4.5 degrees, Solan and Una 7 degrees, Palampur five degrees, Nahan and Bhuntar 8 degrees, Sundernagar 9 degrees and Mandi 13 degrees, respectively.

The Met office warned that hail storm is also likely to occur at one or two places over low or mid hilly area of the state during next 24 hours. The Met office said that rain or snow likely to occur at various places in middle and high reaches during next 24 hrs.
