Sunshine in Himachal after week-long snowy weather

Shimla (Jan 13): Clear sky and sunshine brought much-needed relef for people in Himachal Pradesh after week-long spell of snowy weather, however, cold wave during night hours continued as mercury kept three to four degree below normal in snowbound areas.

The Met department has, however, forecast more rain and snow in the state beginning from tomorrow. Banjar and Bhuntar in Kullu recorded 4 mm and 0.2 mm rain while rest of state was dry. The minimum temperature in Keylong was recorded at minus 14.5 degree Celsius, four degree below normal, followed by Kalpa at minus six degrees, Manali minus 5.8 degrees (3.8 degrees below normal), Bhuntar and Solan minus 0.8 degrees each and Shimla minus 0.6 degrees, respectively.

Minimum of Sunderngar in Mandi was low at 0.1 degrees, Dharamshala and
Palampur in Kangra 2.7 degrees and 2.5 degrees, Mandi 4.2 degrees and
Nahan in Sirmaur 6.2 degrees respectively.
