Bus accident toll rises to 15

Shimla (Jan 13): The death toll in Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation bus accident at Faidapul near Nerwa in Shimla district has risen to 15 as four critical passengers succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The state government has ordered a magisterial inquiry, officials said here today.

Eleven persons died on the spot while 15 others were rushed to Nahan and Poanta hospital where four critical sucmmbed to injures. Some of them have been referred to PGI Chandigarh.The deceased were identified as Ramesh Kumar (39), Anil (20), Mangat Ram
(48), Naresh Kumar (44) HTRC Driver, Ram Lal (34), Padam Singh (65),
Veer Singh (55), Bhadur Singh (38), Mohan Singh (52), Braham Dutt (38), Santosh Kumar(16), Sia Ram (25) Moti Singh (25), Puja (16) and one person could not be identified. The deceased belong to Chopal, Shilai and Sangrah area of Himachal.

The accident spot recently experienced heavy snowfall. The cause of
the accident, however, is yet to be ascertained, police said.
