Shimla: World Diabetes day was celebrated by Department of Community Medicine IGMC, Shimla. More than 1000 students along with faculty of medical and nursing college took part in the event.
To celebrate the day a walk was organized from Oak Over to Ridge with Hon’ble Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, Principal IGMC Shimla and Professor Community Medicine, Dr. Anmol Gupta. Book on diabetes written by Associate Professor, Medicine Dr. Rajesh Kashyap was released by Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal and for more than 300 persons their blood sugar was checked. Film was also screened for the general public. In addition, MBBS and BDS students along with nursing students formed a blue ring, the awareness symbol for diabetes.
