Bye – election notification issued for Nalagarh and Renuka assemby constituencies

Shimla: Himachal State Chief Electoral Officer, Narinder Chauhan, said today that the Election Commission of India has today issued notification to conduct the bye-elections for Nalagrah (12) and Renuka (16) Assembly Constituencies. The process of filing nominations has started.

Mr Chauhan said that the 12th November, 2011 was the last date for filing nominations and the scrutiny would be done on 14th November whereas the last date for withdrawal would be  on 16th November and polling would be held on 30th November. He further said that the counting would be done on 4th December while the bye-election process would be completed by 7th December, 2011.

Election Commission of India (ECI) has also appointed four observers to ensure that free and fair elections are held in the two constituencies. Mr. Chauhan informed that Sh. R. G. Kulkarni would be Election Observer (General) and Reyaz Ahmed (Expenditure) for Nalagrah assembly constituency and Raju Narayanaswamy (General) and Vijay Bhahadur Singh (Expenditure) would be Election Observer for Renuka (SC) assembly constituency.

No candidate from Nalagrah and Renuka Assembly Constituencies has filed nominations till the filing of this news story.
