Road accidents claims 3,479 lives in last threes yrs in Himachal

Shimla (Aug 26): As many as 3,479 people have died in road accidents in the past three years in Himachal Pradesh, a minister said here Friday.

“As many as 3,479 people have lost their lives in the state in the past three years,” transport minister Mohinder Sigh said in the state Assembly. He said human error, mechanical failure, bad road conditions and drunken driving were mainly responsible for the accidents.

“In 97 percent cases, human error and drunken driving are responsible for the accidents, while three percent are due to mechanical failure and bad roads,” he said. He said to check accident rate, the government has already imposed a ban on use of mobile phone by the drivers and use of music systems.

“Out of 536 black accident spots in the state, 248 spots have been improved and work is on the others,” the minister added.

    what a great news ….and HP Govt. is saying accident is happening becoz of human error …yes its human ….as our govt. not paying attention towards the Road condition …if we’ll see the Chandigarh to Shimla Road ….that is little fine and Shimla-Kufri- Jubbal -Kotkhai road and Mandi – chamba Road ……..really very bad in condition and I think now its apple season and the apple orchard only know this very well and out HP transport Minister is saying …its human error …its their error ….they are not paying nay attention and I think if Lok pal bill be implemented HP all ministers can be seen in KANTHU JAIL. Sleepy people & Sleepy Politician.
