Kangra miniature paintings are set to reach art lovers across the world, and that too with the click of the mouse, as for the first time an effort has been made to preserve the tradition over the ‘world wide web’. On Saturday Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal will inaugurate kangraarts.org, the first-of-its-kind wbsite on Kangra miniature paintings initiated by Kangra Arts Promotion Society (KAPS), a body formed exclusively to protect and promote the miniature art tradition.Put up with help from HimVani, the website will act as a window to showcase the tradition. It will also give budding artists a chance to present their work more easily. The website has been designed voluntarily by Himanshu Khagta, a budding designer from the state.
An exebition of Kangra miniatures will also be inaugurated at the state museum in Shimla by the CM on the occasion.
