Rishi Dhawan becomes first player from Himachal to be signed for IPL

Chandigarh: Rishi Dhawan has become the first cricketer from Himachal Pradesh to have been signed for the Indian Premier League. Dhawan will be playing for the Mohali team owned by another Himachali, Bollywood star Preeti Zinta. Right-hand batsman and fast bowler Dhawan will be paid Rs 30 lakh for his services. 17-year-old Dhawan is the youngest member of the Himachal Ranji team and was declared the Ceat cricketer of the year last week. He is also credited with breaking Yuvraj Singh’s record of 340 runs in the under-17 category of the game.
