NPL: Juggernauts reclaim third position with win over Hornets

Hamirpur: Sizzling Juggernauts returned to third position in the football league being played at NIT Hamirpur (Himachal) by defeating Raging Hornets 3-2. The match could be credited as one of the most exciting matches in the league so far as the fighting spirit and competitive attitude of players kept the audience on their toes during the whole match.
The match had a dramatic start with as many as two penalty kicks awarded within the first few minutes itself. The first one was awarded to Hornets as Akhilesh Vyas handled the ball inside their penalty area. But Ashok Rupta failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Less than five minutes after this incident, Hornets returned the favour to Juggernauts. This time Abhishek Sharma made sure the ball found the back of the net to grab lead. Hornets came up with an equalizer through a well-timed free kick. The game ended 1-1 at half time.
As soon as the second half started, the players continued from where they left off in the first half and kept attacking and making chances. The Juggernauts took the lead halfway through the second half with Lalal Hanghal perfectly executing a free kick 20 yards away from the goal. The Hornets came back hard and equalized a short while later through a series of headers near the Juggernauts’ goal and Ashish Nag finally heading home the ball. Just when you thought the match would end in a draw, the Juggernauts’ gave the final blow. Rishi Rana gave Juggernauts the win by heading the ball into the Hornet goal from a corner kick.
